Elliot Lake 108

Ontario Hwy 108 leads to Elliot Lake a small town that has made big headlines over its existence. Elliot Lake rests on the Canadian Shield in Northern Ontario and was a planned community that was born for uranium mining in the 1950’s. When mining was completed in the 90’s, Elliot Lake resurrected as a Retirement/Seniors community which currently makes up for a little over 40% of the population. Elliot Lake sometimes faces divide and challenges. To respectfully discuss both the natural beauty of Elliot Lake as well as the challenges the city faces, can only make a community stronger. It is not the easiest of times for many residents in our great community of Elliot Lake, Ontario.
We are currently without our recreational pool, without our hockey/skating arena and an aging and ailing infastructure.
The city must spend carefully within the means provided by the taxpayers and the residents are concerned of rate increases while they must live within their fixed incomes.
We are in this together with better days ahead!
